ArcGIS Server
Enterprise GIS Data Management

Geodata management services are part of an enterprise geodata management strategy. They enable large multi-user geodatabases to be edited and used simultaneously by many users.

With ArcGIS Server, you can:

  • Edit geodatabases—Perform editing and data compilation tasks in ArcMap by connecting to ArcSDE geodatabases on local and wide area networks.
  • Manage replicas—Provide distributed data management using geodatabase replication.
  • Edit with many client applications—Openly edit geodatabases using almost any client application. This uses data checkout and Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) scripts.
  • Use SQL—You can access and work with geodatabases using SQL.
  • Publish geodata web services—Publish geodatabase services for web access using XML-based APIs such as SOAP, REST, and OGC WFS and WCS.
