A mechanism to create MrSID encoded images.
Use the ISupportErrorInfo method InterfaceSupportsErrorInfo to determine if the object supports extended error information. If the object supports extended error info, VC++ developers should use the OLE/COM IErrorInfo interface to access the ErrorInfo object. Visual Basic developers should use the global error object Err to retrieve this extended error information.
|IRasterEncoder||Provides access to members that control the RasterEncoder.|
|ISupportErrorInfo||Indicates whether a specific interface can return Automation error objects.|
Multiresolution Seamless Image Database (MrSIDŽ) is a proprietary raster format that uses wavelet compression and can provide compression ratios greater than 50 to 1. This compression algorithm provides lossy compression and therefore should not be used for data that will be used for analysis later.
The SidEncoder can encode single files of up to 50 MB uncompressed. At ArcGIS 9.0, the SidEncoder object does not write to the MrSID MG3 format.
